Interview: 10 Questions
1. Tell me something about your life and the educational background
I began to study in the art school in 1989 because until the year 1985 it was closed by the military dictatorship. I was 26 years old in this moment and was working as bank clerk. I obtained the graduation university in 2005 because I should have interrupted some years for family and labour reasons. I am divorced and live with two of my three children. Work of an independent way dictating courses of computation to companies and to individuals. Also I work like webmaster of the magazine of visual arts Heterogénesis of Sweden, and develop the campaign of visual sensitization for the legalization of the abortion for an organization feminist.
2. When, how and why started you filming?
I began to realize animations in the year 2001. In a beginning it resulted to me very attractive be able to include the variable of the movement and the sound in the work that was coming realizing. ” Bad blood ” was in a beginning a series of fixed images. Then I understood that it was a good strategy to be able to bring the work over to the major quantity of possible people since the format is home-like to all.
3.What kind of subjects have your films?
I develop minimalism computer (minimalismo informático), in a beginnin it was for need because I don´t have high tech. Then I chose it depending on the local reality in that I live. Many artists keep out of realizing digital art because they think that they do not have powerful machines and this brings prepared a problem as for the vision of the artists who live in the least developed countries. The art that ensues from these latitudes does not reflect the social reality that is lived because the artists belong to social strata with an economic high capacity, though it is true that this situation is diminishing for the fall in the prices of the computer industry, remains in force the prejudice.
4. How do you develop your films, do you follow certain principles, styles etc?
No answer.
5. Tell me something about the technical equipment you use.
I have a PC Pentium 4, with 512 RAM, 80 giga hard disk and processor velocity 1 giga.
6. What are the chances of new media for the genre film/video in general
and you personally?
The new technologies allow me to be employed the image at movement. I do not realize video because I do not have camera, of there that in general I realize animated collages. When I need to take photos I appeal friends who give me theirs.
7. How do you finance your films?
With my own work.
8. Do you work individually as a video artist/film maker or do you work in a team?
if you have experience in both, what is the difference, what do you prefer?
I work alone.
9. Who or what has a lasting influence on your film/video making?
I don´t know, I think that I don´t have one specific referent.
10. What are your future plans or dreams as a film/video maker?
I don’t have dreams, I must work hard and I do only that I can do… Last year I began a new project and I could not have finished it yet.
