Interview: 10 questions

1.
Tell me something about your life and the educational background

I am a young independent filmmaker. An autodidact. A Writer-director. In ordinary life I am a pedagogue. I studied philosophy and literature.

2.
When, how and why started you filming?

I started filming two years ago. For a couple of years I worked on scripts and tried to realize my ideas and visions. I worked out the script, serched some people out of the film business who could help me and join the team. I got some film subsidy. And so came one thing to another. I always wanted to work as an artist. I drawed, wrote. And one day I realised that film is the best way of expression, the ultimate art.

3.
What kind of subjects have your films?

My films subject life and love. I portrait macrocosm and microcosm. Often I try to express feelings without words. With images, music… My next project subject love, life and death.

4.
How do you develop your films, do you follow certain principles, styles etc?
At first I follow my feelings and instincts. After this emotional unconscious approach I develop my projects more with the knowing of styles, principles and rules.

5.
Tell me something about the technical equipment you use.
I rent always the equipment I need. Till now I worked with hd-cams and one time with an adaptor for 35mm-lenses.

6.
What are the chances of new media for the genre film/video in general
and you personally?

I see chances that the market and the business opens for people that have not the money to produce professionel with lots of money. This is also my chance.

7.
How do you finance your films?

I try to get film subsidy, technical support from firms, financial or material support from sponsors. And of course with the nonfinancial help of friends and family.

8.
Do you work individually as a video artist/film maker or do you work in a team?
if you have experience in both, what is the difference, what do you prefer?

I work first on my own and then try to find a team for my films. I don’t work obligatory with the same team. Without a good team it is imposssible to make a complete motion picture. So I prefer a team that has a creative connection to my projects.

9.
Who or what has a lasting influence on your film/video making?
Above all the outstanding Terrence Malick. In his philosophy, art, in his approach and his way to direct. He is unbelievable.

10.
What are your future plans or dreams as a film/video maker?

I dream to make major films with my philosophy that reach as much people as possible. I dream to realise my visions. So I try to make films that bring me further and further.
