Interview: 10 questions

1. Tell me something about your life and the educational background
I was born in Tel-Aviv, Israel.
I am a designer (Art director) and a contemporary and media artist.
I studied art and architecture in high school.
My professional education from the ‘Technion’ Israel Institute of Technology – (Graphic design degree) and continuing education program for designers at Sivan College Tel Aviv.
I deals with digital media almost two decades.

2. When, how and why started you filming?
I was always interested in animation. And the combination of moving images and video really fascinated me.
4 years ago, I began to participated in exhibitions in Museums and video art projects around the world.

3. What kind of subjects have your films?
I work on issues from the personal to the public. Especially issues related to women and circles of life. I deal a lot with the memory of the Holocaust.

4. How do you develop your films, do you follow certain principles, styles etc?
I’m always working under a concept, I engaged in a very short sections between one minute for three minutes. My video arts are based on images that I repose, integrated digital painting works and animation.

5. Tell me something about the technical equipment you use.
I work in various art and 3d drawing computer software, and special effects.

6. What are the chances of the digital video technologies for creating art using “moving images” generally, and for you personally?

I think the connection between moving images and video is great.
I really love to combine digital images and animated movement.

7. How do you finance your films?
All the work and professional equipment funded by me. Without external support.

8. Do you work individually as a video artist/film maker or do you work in a team?
I am working alone.

9. Who or what has a lasting influence on your film/video making?
Since I work more associated with animation technique I’m more influenced by movies made in this technique. No particular movie affected me. But surrealistic style also influenced my paintings very much. Artists like painter Salvador Dali, and film maker like Walt Disney affected me very much.

10. What are your future plans or dreams as a film/video maker?
I am very much hope to continue to evolve in video art.
My dream is to submit my films in museums,projects of video art and exhibitions around the world.
