    Interview : 10 questions

    1. Tell me something about your life and the educational background

I currently live in Peckham, London. I recently finished my Masters Degree in Photography at London College of Communication.

    2. When, how and why started you filming?

I started using film when I felt that photography was no longer sufficient as a tool to explore the issues that interested me.

    3. What kind of subjects have your films?

I am interested in personal identity. My films explore these issues in quite a direct manner.

    4. How do you develop your films, do you follow certain principles, styles etc?

They begin as ideas, normally inspired by the everyday experiences. I then begin background research into philosophies and concepts surrounding the initial idea.
I try to start the production stage when I am reasonable certain of what I envisage the final outcome to be.

    5. Tell me something about the technical equipment you use.

Standard miniDV Camcorders and digital SLR cameras.

    6. What are the chances of new media for the genre film/video in general
    and you personally?

Plentiful. It is a wonderfully broad and inclusive medium.

    7. How do you finance your films?

I use my earnings as a freelance photographer to finance my personal work. I prefer this to the bureaucracy involved in seeking funding from public bodies.

    8. Do you work individually as a video artist/film maker or do you work in a team?

    I tend to work alone.

    9. Who or what has a lasting influence on your film/video making?

Peter Campus, Dan Graham and Philip-Lorca diCorcia have been influential figures for me.

    10. What are your future plans or dreams as a film/video maker?

I will continue to make work that explores issues surrounding personal identity.

Can works of yours viewed online besides on VideoChannel? Where?
